Varsity Baseball Advances to Sectional Title for Third Consecutive Year

Junior pitcher Matthew McTighe led the team with six strikeouts in the boys win against Poolesville HS April 20, winning the Division Title.

The boys varsity baseball team (15-2) defeated the Magruder Colonels (8-11) 7-2 May 11 at home by building on their early lead to achieve a comfortable win. They will next face the Manchester Valley Mavericks for the sectional title.

The boys started the game with an early lead in the bottom of the first inning taking a six-run lead. They added one more run in the third inning to defeat the Colonels 7-2.

Senior starting pitcher Chris Ribaudo allowed no runs and struck out five players. Freshman Lucas Ribaudo went up to the plate three times, leading the team with two hits, one run and a walk.

Each year since the 2016 season the boys have made it to the section title, winning it the last two years. They will face the Manchester Valley Mavericks today home at 4 p.m. for the sectional title.
