Girls varsity volleyball won their first game of the season, without losing a set, Sept. 11 against the Albert Einstein Titans.

The Rams (1-2) beat the Titans (1-1) in three straight sets, winning the sets 25-20, 25-19 and 25-16.

“We proved that we can play really cohesively as a team, encourage each other the whole time and just play really solid volleyball,” head coach Stacey Krebs said.

Freshman outside hitter Paige Krawczel was a standout player against the Titans, tallying nine kills and nine ace services. The freshman has not only adjusted to varsity but has become a valuable outside hitter for the Rams.

“It was super easy to adjust [to varsity]. Everyone is so nice and funny and we are all pretty close,” Krawczel said.

Other notable performances came from outside hitter Kaytlin Wack who had five kills in the first set, and center Tiama Essama-Ayi, whose three blocks and two kills gave the Rams a strong presence in the middle of the court.

The Rams look to get another win Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. against Blair Blazers at home.
