Lil’ Cakes and Creamery recently opened its first Rockville location at the former Sam’s Cafe and Market. It is located just off Rockville Pike and is across from Wintergreen Plaza. 

Lil’ Cakes and Creamery is open 7 days a week starting at 10:30 am, closing at 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 8:30 pm the rest of the week. 

This dessert shop offers an abundance of specialty treats. Their menu includes cupcakes, cake jars, sweet treats, ice cream, milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, and even dog treats for your four-legged friends too!

A visit to Lil’ Cakes and Creamery will definitely leave your sweet tooth satisfied. With vegan and gluten-free options available, nobody has to leave empty-handed.

“As a picky eater, I usually stick to desserts that are more simple.  The vanilla milkshake was delicious, it was perfect for me,” junior Keira Mena said. 

If you are looking for something cool and refreshing on a hot day, getting a milkshake is the perfect option. For $6.99, you can buy yourself a milkshake with any ice cream flavor of your choice. For an additional $3, they even offer cupcake milkshakes which contain one of their signature cupcakes blended in with ice cream! This allows you to have creative freedom in your dessert, making it as simple or extravagant as you want. 

Nonetheless, if you are someone who likes more traditional and classic choices, there are many options for you to choose from. 

Their signature cupcakes cost $3.80, which is substantial for the taste and size of the dessert. They offer flavors that range from red velvet to strawberry crunch.  

“The garnish on top of the frosting gives the cupcake an expected but enjoyable crunch to it. Not only is the cupcake delicious to eat, but they look very appetizing,” junior Amira Mohamed said. 

Not only are the desserts good, but the atmosphere is comforting. With a bright and colorful indoor seating area, and even a room for birthday parties, the space is very welcoming. Their desserts are put beautifully on display for their customers to pick and choose from. 

Located less than 10 minutes from Rockville High School, a visit here is a great way to whine down and treat yourself after a long day of school. With decent prices for the quality and quantity of the desserts, Lil’ Cakes and Creamery is definitely worth checking out!
