On Sept 2, the RHS stadium was roaring with cheers and excitement at this year’s fall sports pep rally. 

This pep rally was held in order to encourage school spirit and support RHS fall sports teams. The pep rally had a variety of different performances ranging from the cheerleaders to the marching band to the fall athletes, which thrilled the crowd.

“I had a fun time at the pep rally,” freshman Tamir Satterwhite said. “I got to see a bunch of people perform, and it was really cool.” 

Our different RHS fall sports teams show their school spirit.

“My favorite part of the pep rally was seeing the different teams who will represent our school for the fall,” principal Rhoshanda Pyles said. “And just because I love to see school spirit, I get very excited when students are excited about their activities that they are participating in.”

There were many performances on that day, and the RHS stadium rallied them on.

“I thought they were great,” Pyles said. “Students work really hard to prepare for performances. It’s not easy standing out, and performing in front of a group of your peers, so I enjoyed watching them.”

The cheerleaders gave an amazing dance at the pep rally, and the RHS stadium cheered them on. They gave a great performance, but it wasn’t easy, as it took a lot of practice and hard work for them.

“Working on our performance was definitely difficult, I’d say,” freshman Corey Majewski said. “But definitely worth it.”

Finally, Majewski shared her hopes on what she wants to happen for the next pep rally.

“Definitely not on a day that is as hot, or maybe inside, because it was really hot on that day,” Majewski said.

The next fall pep rally will take place indoors, leading many students to believe it will be better than ever.
