Since released on May 4, hundreds of thousands of people have attended theatres to see The Avengers, grossing to date $513.7 million dollars. Marvel’s individual hero movies of Iron Man, Thor and Hulk all led to The Avengers.

Directed by Joss Whedon and written by Whedon and Zak Penn, The Avengers was successfully exhilarating and action packed every moment. Robert Downy Jr (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Raffalo (Hulk), and Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) all join to play heroes that unite when the world needed them the most.

If any child grew up reading Marvel Comics then they would know all about the characters and their stories. Each Avenger’s individual story all conjoins when they team up to fight an extraterrestrial that threatens their world.

The movie takes place all over the world and ends in New York City. The antagonist Loki devises a plan to attain a powerful universal source of energy to have an army to seize Earth. Nick Fury, founder of the Avengers, immediately joins with classified government agency S.H.E.I.L.D. to locate all heroes around the world to stop him.

As any comic geek knows, Loki’s character is a deceiver. By causing a national security crisis in order to unite the heroes, the heroes would clash together instead of working together to defeat him. This was Loki’s plan: that way no one would be there to stop him.

Loki’s plan works for the most part, but it was not until the death of S.H.E.I.L.D. Agent Coulson, whom Loki kills, that the heroes were inspired to get past their feuds, avenge Coulson’s death and save the world.

Overall, the movie contained a good deal of humor, action and a great story line that praises Stan Lee’s. The casts each successfully fit to their roles and the effects capture every moment to make the theatrical experience even greater. This movie is successful from the start and satisfies all the anticipation from the moment of its first sneak peak. Even now, the number of spectators for The Avengers is dramatically rising and is breaking rewards.
