Junior Izaiah Belliel believes relationships are crucial for success at RHS, and he’s made lots of them along the way so far.
“It is really important because if you have a good relationship with [your teacher] it makes you feel comfortable enough to ask them questions, and by asking more questions you can understand the subject better,” Belliel said.
Belliel is taking several challenging classes this year, including medical interventions. According to Belliel, turning in your work on time and having a teacher who knows what they’re talking about is essential for success.
“The habit of getting my work in on time and manage[sic] my time,” Belliel said. “My teacher knows what he’s talking about so it makes it easier, and he gives us practice questions on the subject.”
Belliel’s motivation revolves around the relationships with his teachers and his friends, which is key in one of your hardest years of school. He also believes the positive of seeing his friends every day outweighs the sleepless nights and piles of homework.
“I think [the challenge of school] is really worth it, because this summer I was bored and really missed my friends,” Belliel said. “It has a big positive impact on my life, because it makes me feel happy, joyful, you know?”
