Freshman Edward Asencio has moved several times in his life to arrive at RHS: Florida, then Washington DC, and eventually Maryland. Now, he enjoys playing soccer after school with his friends and learning about different sciences.
“My favorite subject is biology,” Asencio said.
Asencio enjoys astronomy so much that he would have liked to join the astronomy club, but as of now, one doesn’t exist at RHS. Asensio also has a love for cooking and enjoys putting food together to create a delicious meal.
“I don’t know, maybe, but like I would, I would like to be a chef in the future, something like that, I don’t know,” Asencio said.
Asencio may consider signing up for the culinary arts program at Thomas Edison High School to learn more about cooking. Many see cooking as therapeutic, and Acensio feels the same about his ceramics class as a way to express his emotions.
“[Ceramics] calms me down, and it’s just a nice class to have for first period,” Asencio said.
