Every morning, senior Liza Thach looks forward to asserting her new dominance over the underclassmen.
“It’s so nice being a senior,” Thach said. “The most fun thing I’ve ever had in my seniordom this year is that there’s this one kid I keep mogging in AP Art every morning.”
When asked to clarify mogging, Thach only mewed.
“It brings joy to my ears. To my eyes,” she said. “He gets so annoyed.”
Unfortunately, Thach isn’t very impressed with the rest of her senior experience so far.
“It’s lamer than I expected,” Thach said. “I thought I’d be doing cool stuff by now, but I am just sitting in Mrs. Fry’s room.”
Thach bemoans the long, tedious surveys given during wellness Wednesdays and the inconvenience of rotating wellness periods every week.
Thach is making the most of her senior year outside academics in the recently rebranded Asian Pop Culture Club. Thach enjoys engaging with Asian pop culture by listening to musical genres like J-pop, K-pop, and a bit of C-pop.
Asian Pop Culture club has expanded its repertoire of activities since branching out from a K-Pop focus.
“Love talk every time we do karaoke. And we do slide shows, and, you know, just talk about Asian culture and stuff,” Thach said. I don’t know how it’ll go now that it’s called Asian Pop Culture Club, because originally we were K-pop centered.”
