Sophomore Maura Hansen is a year-round athlete, but of the 3 sports she plays at school, her favorite memories revolve around the special moments shared on the lacrosse field.
“My favorite high school memory so far has been playing lacrosse last year,” Hansen said.
Hansen also plays field hockey and basketball, but she has been playing lacrosse for most of her life. Because of her height, everyone around her always assumed that basketball would be her best and favorite sport, but the connection shared on the field with a special player, her sister Molly, to Hansen made lacrosse trump them all.
“That memory is very special to me, because me and my sister, Molly, have been growing up playing lacrosse together, so playing on the varsity team last year with her was very fun,” Hansen said.
Hansen learned that the connection on the field is extremely important and does a lot for the dynamic between the players. Being able to share that connection with her sister while playing a sport that they both love made the experience much more special.
“I learned that connections can go very far when you’re on the field and just having that sister connection really helped us play connect on the field,” Hansen said. “I look back, very excited for this upcoming season with her, you know, hopefully, we can cook together.”
