Junior Allison Araoz doesn’t see the term miracle as just a concept, but rather she sees it as a goal that she strives for. Araoz has been thinking about attending an Ivy League university since she was a little child and would see her admission to one as a dream come true.
“A miracle to me is something you have little hope of happening,” Araoz said. “For me, it would be getting into an Ivy League school.”
Since she was young, Araoz has been interested specifically in Princeton and Harvard and viewed those prestigious schools as the reward of a long road of academic excellence, perseverance, and determination.
“Ever since I was little those were like the big names you know you would just hear about those colleges. To be honest I used to think that those were the only colleges there were,” she said. “ If I ever reach that goal, I guess it would be like a dream come true in a way.”
Araoz has a passion for academic excellence which is shown by how much she will sacrifice to meet her goals. She is prepared to take the risks she will need to take in order to reach her miracle.
“I would definitely have to focus a lot of time on my studies and make that my main priority for these two years upcoming,” Araoz said.
But Araoz’s goals don’t stop there; she is deeply committed to the community and regularly goes out of her way to find options to volunteer and be able to seek new experiences.
“Like my goal is to always constantly be volunteering …another goal of mine was like trying something new because I want to. I like having being involved in new experiences because doing different things just opens a whole new world for me,” Araoz said.
