Senior Mira Costner is starting out the school year on a high note. After transferring out of the International Baccalaureate diploma program last year, she is looking forward to getting good grades this school year.
“I think my greatest accomplishment right now is having such good grades in my classes,” Costner said. “Because last year like in IB, it was really hard to like get those good grades. And so this year I have really, really good grades.”
The switch from IB to AP classes was an adjustment for Costner. She seems, however, to prefer her new AP classes more.
“I think like right now, you know, school’s been kind of chill,” Costner said.
Though AP classes still aren’t necessarily a walk in the park for her, her perseverance to do well this school year is evident.
“We had like this mini test in AP Psych, and I felt like I didn’t really know what I was talking about, but I did like I tried really hard to like do well on it,” Costner said.
She was concerned about her performance, feeling unprepared, and spending more time on it than the rest of her classmates. However, she tried her best and the result was a pleasant surprise.
“I was a little worried that I would get, you know, a worse grade than them, but I got a 20 out of 20, so I was very relieved about that,” Costner said.
