Sophomore Walter Martinez enjoys photography, cinematography, and drawing. In his free time, he’s dedicated to posting edits on his instagram account, @worksbyjunior.
Martinez hopes to get more involved in classes that will align with his interests.
“I want to sign up for the yearbook second semester this year,” Martinez said. “Apparently it’s for editing and practicing stuff, so I might as well.”
As of now, Martinez is not in any extracurricular activities, and he feels that joining the staff of the yearbook could help him learn more about his hobbies.
Outside his hobbies, Martinez is concerned about school safety and hopes staff will focus on doing more to improve it. Instead of implementing a new phone policy, he feels RHS should put more effort into things like finding out if there are people with weapons in the school.
“There’s stuff like school shootings, you need to, like, put more stuff into. Finding out if people have weapons in this school or not and for the safety of us, ourselves, and the other people that get into this building as well. That really needs to be improved,” he said.
