On September 9th, sophomore Thomas Ridley was hit by a car at the intersection of Baltimore Road and Norbeck Road, but that won’t stop him from being an active member of the Rockville High School community.
“I think I got knocked back maybe a good, like, 2, 3 feet,” Ridley said.
He is currently part of the Project Lead The Way program, the fall play, weightlifting club, and he is on the wrestling team. Despite being hit by a car, Ridley carried on with his day.
“I mean like after it hit I just kind of, like, got up, you know like the woman, tried to give, like contact her info and all that,” Ridley said. “And then you know, I just kinda started walking to school.”
Ridley urges all drivers to always check for pedestrians. Aside from that, he has approached the situation with total calmness and has already moved past the incident.
“I’ve forgiven her,” Ridley said. “I don’t really have, like, too much of a need to make it a bigger deal than it is.”
